BCA 2012!
With the semester back in full swing so is the BCA. After a great summer, we are ready for the new school year and all of its opportunities. This year we are happily welcoming back our returning Chair Alicia Partridge, as well as our wonderful BCA Advisor Chris Kirk-Kuwaye. We have newly elected Ryan McKinley as our Vice Chair and Roman Kalinowski as our Treasurer. Our remaining student members for the 2012-2013 academic year are Erin Padavich and Julia Dilts. Our board will also include UHProductions General Manager Joshua Huaracha, KTUH GM Joshua Mandelstam and our much appreciated community members Miles Takaaze and Duane Shimogawa. We have successfully kicked off the year and are pleased to have been represented at the Chartered Student Organization (CSO) Installation Ceremony on August 29th.
We had a great evening mingling and celebrating with the other CSO leaders, we heard from inspirational keynote speakers about student involvement and most importantly we made a pledge to our fellow students. A highlight of the event for BCA was supporting the final speaker, our very own chairwoman Alicia Partridge, who left us with an encouraging and motivating word and dream of what we can do this year through our leadership.

We closed the evening as we each lit symbolic candles representing the importance of inclusion, empowerment, conviction, competence, perseverance, accountability, and stewardship in our positions. It was a great way to start the term and we look forward to sharing more exciting news this year!
